Ode to Sneakers

Woww. looking through my old AP Comp binder and i found a paper, or rather an ode that i wrote. i chose to write mine about sneakers. oh the hypebeast days…<3 ;). here’s some excerpts.

“To spend too much time collecting sneakers is greed; to buy them too much for luxury, is indulgence; to squander money on sneakers is the joy of sneaker collectors. They perfect materialism, and are perfected by experience; for collecting sneakers is like collecting friends, you can never have too much; and their worth can be exclusive.”

“Fashions make men stylish; writers inspired; the materialistic elaborate; natural philosophy unfathomable; moral unimportant; style and worth able to contend. Nay there is no set or assortment in the fashion world, but may be wrought out by fit sneaker collections: like the foul baseball, hard to catch… So if a man’s style be wandering, let him study the sneakers, for in demonstrations, if his style be called away never so little, he must begin again. If his style be not apt to distinguish or find differences, let him study the sneaker collectors; for they are fresher than Subway’s six inch sandwich. If he be not apt to beat over matters, and to call up one thing to prove and illustrate another, let him observe the sneaker collections. So every flaw of the mind may have a special delivery.”

But omfg when i read that one part, and you know what i’m talking about.. i was like.. did i really just use that?! all sophisticated and then i just sneak that in there -___- hahaaha. oh man. but the baseball part made me smile (:
